After 18 years working around agencies, I have decided to take the plunge and start up as a digital marketing consultant. During my time working in the digital space I have learnt so much. I understand how digital marketing is crucial for businesses and how it complements traditional marketing efforts, enabling companies to reach wider audiences, engage with customers more effectively, and adapt to evolving consumer preferences in today's increasingly digital landscape.
I am confident in my skill sets, but there are plenty of digital marketing professionals out there, what makes me different? I feel it is in my approach to challenges. I know that I bring structure to confusion, order to chaos. I am calm in my approach, clear with decisions, and above all I bring a lot of passion to help push businesses and people to succeed.
So what about my direct, digital experience? As I stated I have 18 years of Digital Marketing behind me and there isn’t much I haven't worked on. From SEO, Social, PPC, web builds, eCRM, ABM, App development, Data Analysis, the list goes on. But I am not solely fixated on ‘digital marketing’ . I understand the need for it to integrate seamlessly into ‘traditional marketing’ , the importance of a creative hook, the importance of a joined up approach to all your marketing efforts.
As a Digital Strategy Director in agency land, I have played a pivotal role in establishing and leading the agency's digital marketing strategy department, catering to a diverse clientele ranging from international to local brands. By crafting and executing multi-channel digital marketing strategies grounded in data-driven insights, I drove substantial growth, achieving a consistent quarterly growth for both the agencies I worked for and the clients we served.
I have spearheaded digital transformation initiatives, implementing process improvements, modernising our approach to market, and developed a proficient team of digital marketers, SEO professionals, and social media specialists.
As I think back through my career, the most enjoyable part has always been working with people, building and managing teams and fostering collaborative networks of partners and freelancers to bolster marketing activity. I am looking forward to helping businesses see the full potential of what digital marketing can bring, but also unleash the skill sets that may already exist in their team and connect them into networks that will push forward their business.
I fully expect each job to be different, but look forward to approaching each client with the same passion and desire to help.
